China will be the new Economic Superpower

china_flag.jpeIn almost every commodity other than automibiles, China now consumes more than the United States. The obvious result of this continuing trend is that China’s economic power will soon dominate the world, if it dosn’t already.
The only thing holding China back is the very real possibility of ecological collapse: Air pollution is at epidemic levels, deforestation and illegal timbering elsewhere in Asia is out of control, water tables are dropping, and, well, you know the story.
