Let’s not hold our breath until it comes out of committee.
We’d apparently save more oil by raising our fuel standards by a third of a mile per gallon than we’d ever get out of ANWR. It is ridiculous to hit this place up before exhausting other much more practical and positive options. There are few places on earth like ANWR left and still plenty of better ways to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
Remember–energy starts with every one of us. One purchase at a time. From flashlights (solar) to vehicles (biodiesel, natural gas, what have you) to powering your home (wind, solar…).
An energy independent America is a better America.
