However, there are 2 retrofits currently available that can dramatically improve existing transport. I&#039;ve tested both and measured efficiency gains of 15-30% and emissions reduction of 50-65%. If this is of interest, I would be happy to share what I have learned.

I am not sure if my idea is new or really useful. I think if a steam turbine is added to gasoline electric hybrid car, the turbine can produce additional electricity and it could significantly increase the efficiency of the car. There would have to be a heat exchanger added to the cylinder block of the car to create the steam and the steam can be used to power a turbine that would produce the electricity.
