Since the company was an early leader in the U.S. with both its take-back program and recycling methods (using equipment that greatly reduces worker exposure to toxics, developing transparent health and safety programs, not using prison labor, etc.), I would think that it would use responsible techniques over there as well. But you never know with China, especially since that's where we see some of the worst abuses in the e-waste recycling industry. The only link I can find on the subject is in Chinese: http://h50055.www5.hp.com/ipg/supplies/recycling/hardware/cn/chi/index.asp

I’d love to know more details about HP’s recycling process in China.
