EV4ME: The Electric Vehicle Movement

Shannon Arvizu | Friday February 15th, 2008 | 2 Comments

As many of you know, I have been tracking the electric vehicle movement currently taking place in California. I put together this mini-doc that shows what entrepreneurs, social movement organizations, and policymakers are doing to make electric cars a reality. Enjoy!

Good to see that you included contributions from UK ev maker Smith Electric Vehicles, who already have several hundred all-electric trucks out there on the streets in the UK and Europe (and very shortly in the US too!). While others mess about with one-off prototypes, they just got on with the job. They are apparently on track to deliver around 2000 electric trucks by the end of 2008. And these are proper, practical, good-sized vehicles, up to 12 tons. American citizens really should not continue putting up with excuses as to why must wait for electric vehicles.

Shannon, do you have a transcript of your very informative YouTube video on EV4ME? It would be great to have this information in readable form for reference.
