I agree, I saw this happen on a smaller scale about 2 years ago in the PV industry in Japan when Suntech bought the small Japanese modules maker MSK. I suppose it will happen even faster as the companies approach the gigawatt production level. Then other companies will see the PV industry as a “real” energy business.

Great post. I absolutely agree with the analysts’ estimations that we’re going to see lots of consolidation in clean technology. It is no wonder why so many venture capital firms are investing furiously in clean tech companies right now. The wave hasn’t yet taken shape, but it’s coming and it’s going to be big.
