THE PREDICTION: Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) said; Before the emergence of Dajjaal (Anti Crist of Jews) there will be tree spells of droughts. In one year the sky will with hold one third of its rain, causing the earth to with hold one third of its produce. In the second year the sky will with hold two third of its rain causing the earth to with hold two third of its produce. In the third year the sky will with hold all its water and there will be no crops in that year. I really don't think we need to *double* food production. The problem is that the US and Europe have too much and waste a tremendous amount of it. It's not a production problem - it's a distribution problem. I'm sure some vegitarians will chime in here too, but whether you're a veggie or not, it certainly makes sense to try and de-emphasize meat, especially in the developing world. Improved farming techniques, some irrigation, and a switch to a primarily vegitarian diet can do wonders without any massive donations or GM products. Im skepitcal of the UN's ability to do that!
