Technological altenatives to save power are a new marketing tool that will reduce overheads and carbon useage over the next decade. They're a great idea, borne from Green IT solutions. Most imact will be in data centers and call centers. There's a company based in Sheffield, England (http://www.very-pc.co.uk) that have developed a desktop PC requiring only 35 watts of power (@240volts) and yet running top end cpus. It's the way forward. Now to just reduce the materials used in their production and we'll be on the right track.
