Bus stops are havens for the heavy pollution that city buses create. The green roof on the shelter can help filter that junk out as the buses drive by. I read a great article about the CAS roof called "California's Academy of Science's 2.5 Acre Green Roof" found at http://www.cleanerairforcities.blogspot.com/2008/07/california-academy-of-sciences-25-acre.html It has great pictures!
