		<description>Good post.
In fact, I posted about this very problem myself (check it out: http://www.lionsledbysheep.com/2008/09/11/oil/ )
It is absolutely ridiculous that the voice of truth goes unheard so often, people preferring to run around like headless chickens and accept any crackpot scheme to save them.
But then that&#039;s our media for you, isn&#039;t it? Spreading mis-information to keep the masses in the dark about what&#039;s truly happening in the world. (Yes, I&#039;ve posted about this as well! http://www.lionsledbysheep.com/2008/08/14/americans/ )
It&#039;s far easier to manipulate the masses and get what you want if you&#039;ve a means of feeding them believable lies. Sadly, governments and corporations have that nailed. While we&#039;re happily grinning at the TV, totally transfixed by garbage like Big Brother and American Idol, they cripple our world in the name of &#039;progress&#039; and &#039;economic stability&#039;. If only the masses could drag their eyes away long enough to see it for what it truly is: GREED!
It just seems that, even well into the 21st century, the closer we &#039;should&#039; be getting to globalization leading to peace and prosperity for all, the further we actually get from it.
Will things ever change? Only if people open their eyes.
The current oil crisis is a perfect opportunity for people to see the manipulation and fear-mongering that is truly going on every day of their lives.
