Yes, they die; everything does. It's nature's way and we humans can be far kinder to the animals we kill for our food than other predators, who sometimes begin to dine on their prey while they are still alive. It is no longer morally acceptable, in my opinion, for us to eat factory-farmed animals; and it's not good for us either. To 'support' America's burgeoning grass-fed ranchers, all you need to do is buy their products; locally if possible.

Once you do a bit of research and thinking, everything becomes quite clear: grass-fed beef–ruminant animals eating their natural food–is better all the way around: better for the farmers, who genuinely find the more labor-intensive work satisfying and rewarding; better for the environment; better for the eater; and better for the animals who get to enjoy the bargain they’ve made with humans since domestication and live a life protected from predators, with ample food and the opportunity to engage in natural behaviors, for a longer time than they could possibly enjoy without human care. Where did you hear about that? And, if it's true, why don't more people talk about it? You'd think that's the kind of information that has serious viral spread potential in the USA.

And, dude, I can't help it: Andrew Burger writing about beef. I think you've found your calling.

No artery clogging fats in grass fed beef? Where did you hear about that?
