		<description>Hi Scotty - Thanks for sharing your thoughts. We&#039;re actually a 100% online company, with no brick and mortar stores. So, in a way, we could have even more difficulty than the larger corporations in office parks and high rises.
This is why it&#039;s even more important to us to participate in our community. We&#039;re very proud of our culture and of the team that we&#039;ve built, so it&#039;s important for us to share the love with local charities. We don&#039;t want to be a faceless internet company.
My main point was that companies should find a charity or cause that ties into what they sell/service. It&#039;s what you&#039;re best at (or at least it SHOULD be)! CRM is still marketing, after all, so it should offer long term benefits to your company by offering value.

		<description>I applaud Coastal Contacts for being an active member of their community, but don&#039;t see a significant case for how they are different from most local companies who are participating in community fundraisers.
They&#039;re practicing good business, especially being in the retail space with store traffic, by advocating support of local initiatives. To their advantage, they have far more contacts with customers and people driving/walking by. While larger corporations who are housed in office parks &amp; high rises are doing the same things, they don&#039;t get the visibility.
What would be interesting is an interview with local community members and customers to see if they share the same perception of strong of a value system Coastal Contacts.
Thanks for bringing a company to the forefront who understands and values CSR. It&#039;s good to have real cases to read and debate.
