		<description>As you say, geothermal should be the number one focus area for oil companies if they are serious about becoming next generation energy companies - as it is the only one that really makes sense as a new business area that leverages an oil company&#039;s core competencies. The other areas Don Paul highlights are really just illustrative of how any company can get advantage from using green tech to improve internal operations. I don&#039;t see much evidence that oil companies are making any risky bets just yet that could cannibalize their hydrocarbon based revenue streams.
