It's more important what you put in your mouth, then working out. I use to work in a Gym, and would see people think, just because they worked out, it was ok to go get a Happy Meal. You'd be better off not working out, go for a walk, and eat a sensible meal.

This is the kind of thought that gets people in trouble. If you have a bowl of fruit loops vs pretty much anything else besides healthier cereal, eggs if you work out, or oatmeal not has no sugars in it. The bottom line is that if you work out and you have these types of cereals they are not bad for you at all. People just take too much time and effort to talk bad things about these types of things instead of getting up and going to the gym to work out.

I do not see how you can seriously say that fruit loops are horrible for you as a meal. How messed up must your corporate vision be to do that? Or do folks really believe Froot Loops is good for you?

I find it stunning that these guys can keep a straight face while posting “smart choice” labels on this stuff. One solution would be a metric system to rate the safety, nutritional and environmental excellence of a product, through a non-biased third party, such has been done by USGBC with the LEED designation for architecture and building or community design. We plan to create such a score in the Ecological Food Manufacturers Association. Thanks for your humor and no non-sense observation about such a ridiculous marketg campaign! For more info about EFMA, please see www.ecofma.com or www.foodinitiative.comCheers!

I find this to be so disappointing! How is the average rushed shopper supposed to know that this seemingly helpful label is really a scam brought to you by the makers of obesity and diabetes!

Great article.
