I have been a long timer buyer and lover of Sigg products and I have purchased more than $100 worth of their water bottles/canteens in my life.

I will never buy another Sigg product, nor support them by word of mouth for the rest of my life.

Kudos to Sporting Good Stores like REI who have refused to carry Sigg anymore because of their dishonesty.

I feel completely appalled by all of this, what about the stainless steel bottles? I have always made the choice when purchasing to buy them. Has there been any information on whether or not they have used an unnecessary coating on them??????????

First of all, you can’t taste BPA. Second you are the same guy I replied to on the Mother Nature page. Are you working for them as I suspect you are? The tests are flawed in the company contracted testing that was done. There is BPA leaching from these linings so quit lying to people. The test were done at parts per billion and this is not the standard for testing this chemical. BPA is more harmful to the Endocrine system at very very low doses and their testing states that, “no detectable levels above LOQ.” Which means they did not detect levels above 2 parts per billion. This however does not state that they did not find BPA, it only states that they did not test for it lower than 2 ppb. You can have your BPA lined SIGG bottles if you are only interested in saving the environment. Environment won’t matter that much to people if they are all to sick or diseased to enjoy. Stop using these bottles now, for your health or your children’s health(especially).

God, this sucks. I really love my Sigg bottles.

There is a local SF company called EarthLust, that makes pretty nice all-aluminum bottles with no liner at all. They’re designed in SF and “ethically made in China”. Wish they were manufactured here but anyway it’s a good company and a good bottle.

So are you throwing away all your SIGG bottles or still using them? Throw them my way if you are. If not your STILL not getting ANY BPA in your system by using them. I have my old BPA SIGG bottle right here and I don’t get ANY bad taste in my mouth drinking from it or reading all the hoop-la about who said what when. SIGG bottles are still the best bottles made and SIGG is still making a big impact on saving our environment and I hope they continue to do so.

It’s not about the presence of BPA in the lining. It’s about a supposedly sustainable company being so intentionally misleading (and not just through marketing, through news media as well). Sets a bad example and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. A taste I cannot rinse out because all my water bottles are Sigg.

They were sounding the alarm on BPA prior to it seeping in to mass consciousness in 2007.
