More people (myself included), lost their jobs than the losses experienced during the retrenchment in the 80s American auto industry.As long as fossil fuels continue to be subsidized by direct tax dollars, indirect tax dollars (military fighting for oil) and not required to internalize the external pollution costs, there will never be a level playing field.Don't get sucked into the idealistic rhetoric over "we don't need subsidies."
