Many opportunities in O&M right now. I believe you could contact all new turbine suppliers and some of the usual suspects. Construction side is slower now, but a lot of projects are planned and will need operators.

That's a good question Graham. I'm not as familiar with the O&M end of wind farms. The Renewable Energy World job website might be a helpful resource.

Like most fields, networking is extremely helpful for finding jobs. Industry specific conferences are a great way to do this. The American Wind Energy Association and Windustry plan many of these events. Social media websites, like Linkedin have renewable energy groups for networking and educational purporses.

It is also helpful to strengthen skills that are useful in such positions. Familiarity with GIS software or planning tools, such as Windfarmer are useful. I also recommend having your pulse on industry by staying current on developments.

$65,000 to $120,000 is an average pay range. Bonuses are common depending on the success of a given project.
