This system is aesthetic by who's standards? An affordable sustainable HYBRID ROOF TILE SYSTEM can be seen at www.artezanos.com . The system is reversed engineered for solar panel and/or vegetative integration. This system lasts 100+ years and still looks like a high end traditional barrel tile roof! Product currently is Miami Dade County Approved for the Hurricane High Velocity Wind Zone.

PTFE - Teflon is not a green material.

Labor costs aren't a huge % of the PV system costs.

Besides don't we need jobs right now, let's design a solar system that creates fewer jobs, yeah that is the ticket.

Midwestern US Bike Commuter,

Thanks so much for your questions and comments regarding the not-yet-released SolarClover system. As you can tell from the company website, few details and specifics are currently available. Hopefully, more information about the product will be released in the near future.

Have a great day!

Simple and affordable, and unavailable until sometime next year. Great!!!
The company website has only some pictures, even less info than this bare-bones article.

Jumping the gun again, I see..

A few more questions remain to be asked and answered, I think.

1.) how does the micro-inverter work?
2.) what is the expected service life of the panel?
3.) how efficient are the cells at converting sunlight into energy?
4.) what is the price per watt installed via the DIY approach?
5.) Does this system mounting work on other types of roofs which have problems with traditional racking systems? For example, I have an aluminum shingle roof with a 50 year expected life.
7.) Where are the panels being manufactured? Are they a US product?

A better article would have addressed such questions.
