Tony Wernke – SLDI Co-Founder

Tony possesses over 15 years of experience in business leadership and strategic communications. Over the years, Tony has led a leading land development industry publishing and event production company and consulted with hundreds of land development organizations, helping to improve their business processes, communications, information technology, and business management effectiveness.

His work has been widely published on a number of issues related to sustainable land development and has presented numerous sessions at various industry conference throughout the country.

Professional Experience

As partner with Futurus Communications, Tony led the development and publishing of Land Development Today and Sustainable Urban Redevelopment magazines, internationally distributed in over 100 countries. Tony also led the development of the company’s Land Development Breakthroughs industry conferences and workshops series. He then initiated the development of world’s first and only comprehensive sustainable development algorithm, The SLDI Code.

With Eagle Point, a land development business and technology consulting organization, Tony acted in joint responsibility as Senior Communications Consultant and Marketing Director, leading Eagle Point’s corporate marketing efforts and working with the company’s clients in need of strategic communications, information technology and business management consulting.

Tony worked closely with organizations to guide their strategic planning efforts, and helped them successfully coordinate and implement those plans. This included:

As Marketing Director, Tony led all marketing and corporate communications direction, including all market research, public relations, multimedia and web development, advertising, graphic design, direct marketing, sales tool development, promotional programs, and publications initiatives. Responsible for approximately 10% of Eagle Point’s entire corporate budget, Tony spearheaded the company’s successful transformation of its corporate identity from one centered on technology products to a broader, more encompassing consultative identity.

Preceding Tony’s strategic management and leadership posts, he served as Sales Manager, Corporate Sales Trainer, Marketing Coordinator, and Account Manager at Eagle Point. In these capacities, Tony led teams of sales professionals, developed and implemented comprehensive training programs, and developed a variety of management and technical white papers.
