Using local waste materials to clean air and water makes good sense.  This video from the recent Going Green 2010 conference with Shane Keaney, the president of Bord Na Móna, profiles their water and air treatment technologies using local materials such as peat and seashells.  Bord Na Móna is an energy utility in Ireland that actively researches water and air treatment in addition to their base energy business.   As the entire ecosystem is interrelated, the more utilities are given jurisdiction to manage all aspects of the living environment, the more synergistic the technological solution for handling waste, water, air and energy. How well integrated is your local waster, water, air and energy services?
