Video Interview: CEO of Rentalic Sees Garages of Idle Stuff as Business Opportunity

Connie Kwan | Tuesday November 2nd, 2010 | 2 Comments

Many people own excess stuff, or have spare time and empty rooms.  Imagine if this idle capacity can become a business opportunity.  This video with Punsri Abeywickrema, CEO of Rentalic, profiles their online rental marketplace where individuals can rent items, services or real estate to and from each other.  A winner of Paypal X Developer Challenge in March, Rentalic is taking online social interaction to the next level, the physical world level.  Need a wheelbarrow?  See if someone in your neighborhood can rent it to you for a few dollars.  Literally everyone can participate because, let’s face it, we all have some idle capacity.  With 4500 registered users, of which 1000 joined in the last month alone, Rentalic is on its way to building a more efficiently utilized world.

Great article on a really great website. I use Rentalic to promote the various services I offer, and I also use it to rent my video games that I don’t play anymore.
