Triple Pundit Takes Tesla for a Spin

The first zero-emission luxury sports car is one step closer to hitting the streets. Tesla opened its first dealership this month in Santa Monica, California. Triple Pundit, along with Sebastian Blanco (Senior Editor for AutoblogGreen.com), visited the dealership last Friday to take one of their million-dollar prototypes for a spin. While much has been written lately about Tesla's transmission issues and the firing of one of their founders, the electrifying mood at their new dealership may be an indication that Tesla is on track again.

In regards to the Tesla Roadster's handling and performance, I was impressed. Because it was rush hour when we took our test drive, I assessed its high torque capacity in a nearby empty parking lot (where we also found one of California's ubiquitous electric vehicle charging stations). As expected, the Tesla responded quickly and silently, instilling an immense amount of delight and awe in both of us.

The volume of foot traffic in the dealership and the excitement of onlookers as we drove through West L.A. that afternoon is definitely a sign of increasing consumer demand for electric vehicles. The field of electric vehicle entrepreneurs needs success stories to emerge to continue the momentum. In the pursuit of producing the cleanest form of personal transportation, Tesla remains the leader and this latest development testifies to their determination to make it happen.

can you imagine the reaction from an older generation of auto pundits? "Back in the days, son, we sure KNEW how to pollute the environment..."
