It’s Earth Day and there is no better time to think about sustainability and the environment. Here are some fun facts about how we can protect our planet.

  • Replacing a desktop computer with a laptop saves $10 in electricity costs per person a year. Imagine the savings multiplied by millions.
  • Reducing the average number of hamburgers eaten a week from 3 to 1 could save 1,200 rain barrels of water per person a year – cultivating the food we eat makes up half our daily water consumption
  • Doubling the amount each individual recycles from 26% to 52% could keep an estimated 8 trash bins per person a year out of the landfill.

These facts and other interesting statistics can be found in an infographic : http://www.greenmountainenergy.com/2014/04/infographic-made-earth-day-every-day/
