Daly City, Calif. – Do you know an organization, business or individual that is a leader in the fight against air pollution or climate change? Breathe California wants to recognize their achievements. Nominations are being accepted for the 24th annual Clean Air Awards until midnight, Friday, March 21, 2014.

For twenty-four years, Breathe California has been honoring those whose work significantly contributes to improving air quality, making the Bay Area a healthier place to live. This year’s awards will be given in the areas of:

  • Clean Air Guardian
  • Greenhouse Gas Emission Reductions
  • Leadership
  • Public Health
  • Public Awareness/Education
  • Smart Growth/Green Buildings
  • Transportation programs that reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
  • Technology/Research

The 2014 Clean Air Awards will be presented at a luncheon on Friday, April 24 at the Westin St. Francis hotel on Union Square in San Francisco. Renowned author and Stanford Professor, Mark Z. Jacobson, Ph.D., recently featured on the David Letterman show, will deliver the keynote speech entitled “Wind, Water, and Solar Power:  Converting California and the Other 49 States”.
