Agenda 21 is a set of UN recommendations for sustainable development
From the United Nations DSD website: “Agenda 21 is a comprehensive plan of action to be taken globally, nationally and locally by organizations of the United Nations System, Governments, and Major Groups in every area in which human impacts on the environment”.
It is a voluntary set of recommendations which the UN has produced for national and local governments in order to bring about more sustainable development though zoning, funding priorities, and so on. However, some Americans see Agenda 21 as an affront on American liberty because of it’s international and governmental source.
