Video Interview: E+Co on Solar and Rural Electrification in Developing World

Renewable energy is a thriving industry for entrepreneurship in developing countries.  In this interview, Meredith Elliott of E+Co discusses her experience investing in energy solutions in over 22 countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America.  E+Co is a non-profit that focuses exclusively on energy projects in developing countries in order to bring entrepreneurs up the clean energy ladder. Companies have to meet a series of 34 impact indicators from the GIIRs standard.  Progress on these indicators is collected twice a year by monitoring and evaluation officers.  Elliott finds entrepreneurs through word of mouth, training and incubator events.  At the moment, rural electrification projects are the most proliferate, and 50% of these projects are solar.
