Nestlé has become one of the first companies to reinstate Sinar Mas into its supply chain after dropping the group over environmental concerns last year. The food multinational has begun sourcing palm oil from Smart, a subsidiary of the group. Smart achieved certification by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil after last year’s boycott of all Sinar Mas products, which followed mass deforestation accusations.
