Video Interview: Meghan Ryan, Student, Bard MBA in Sustainability

TriplePundit attended the Sustainable Brands 2013 conference earlier this month. Follow along on this page for ongoing video interviews with sustainability thought leaders, corporate change agents and entrepreneurs who are leading the way to a more sustainable future.

bardmba_logoBard’s MBA in Sustainability is among a handful of top MBA programs that focus on sustainability as a core part of their curriculum (they’ve also been a great partner of TriplePundit over the years).  While at SB’13 earlier this month, I had a chance to chat with Meghan Ryan, a current student in the program about her experiences.

Meghan has just completed a consulting class called NYC Lab.  It’s a year-long class offering students the chance to work with a variety of clients to address social and environmental challenges. As part of the course, she had a chance to work with Unilever on the problem of under-electrification in emerging markets. Her group focused on Ghana and identified a number of products and opportunities to alleviate the problem while creating business opportunities at the same time.
