Equality Works sets up diversity accreditation

By 3p Contributor

A diversity accreditation scheme has been launched in the UK to help businesses improve people management and enhance business performance in the process. Equality Works, a London-based consultancy, has created the Diversity in Business Accreditation (DiBA), which is structured around five issues – leadership, people and performance management, employee and community engagement, customer satisfaction and supplier diversity. Through the development of an inclusive workforce culture and diversified supply chain, the scheme is intended, among other things, to reduce the litigation risk, improve employee retention and morale, and improve employer reputation.

The consultancy also says the DiBA standard will help companies to build their competitive advantage in winning bids and attracting the best talent. Businesses will have to complete pre-assessment exercises, reviews and on-site interviews, and meet reporting requirements to achieve accreditation. Equality Works says companies must show “good practice procedures across a range of business functions”.
