Interview with Kenneth Westrick, Founder and CEO of 3Tier

By Nick Aster

Fresh out of Masdar's Smart Grid panel here at the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi, Kenneth Westrick of 3Tier sat down to talk with me a little bit about what his company does, and to answer a few more questions about how better data helps a "smart grid" work.

3Tier is a renewable energy information services company. The idea: to provide better data for decision makers in the renewable energy sector - making renewable energy more efficient, more cost effective, and therefore more widespread. Kenneth started his company in 1999 as an atmospheric scientist with a fascination for weather modeling and forecasting. Over the past decade, the company has helped developers, operators, financiers, grid managers, and policy makers make better decisions about where and when to place new renewable energy installations, as well as to better manage existing ones.
Apologies for the cutting myself out of the frame!
