Private equity move to back ethical firms

By 3p Contributor

Co-operative Asset Management has agreed to work with the private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts to invest in start-up socially responsible companies.

The deal means Co-operative Asset Management will provide some funding for KKR to finance joint ventures and buy-outs of companies ‘that have promising environmental, social and governance ESG potential’.

Both parties say they believe more private equity finance is needed to fund fledgling companies in spheres such as clean energy and water.
