Britain's got the stress factor

By 3p Contributor

Stress in the UK is landing people in hospital with the number of hospital admissions for the year to May 2012 up on the previous 12 months by 47%, according to the Health & Social Care Information Centre (HCIS). Added to these figures by HCIS are the millions who visit their own doctors, emergency departments or alternative practitioners with symptoms of stress. Stress is the biggest cause of sickness in the UK, affecting one in five of the working population and causing up to 105 million working days to be lost each year, according to the UK Health & Safety Executive.
