Deben to succeed Turner on Climate Change Committee

Energy and climate change secretary Edward Davey has announced that Lord Deben has been selected as the preferred candidate to succeed Lord Turner to chair the Committee on Climate Change. Lord Deben, formerly John Gummer who served as Secretary of State for the Environment from 1993 to 1997, still has to be approved by pre-appointment scrutiny from the Energy & Climate Change Committee.
