Global drinks company Diageo is set to make annual savings of £1.4m as the result of a two-year carbon-reduction project at a distillery in Scotland. And the company behind the Smirnoff, Baileys and Guinness brands says its water efficiency has improved by 7.2% and has cut overall carbon emissions by almost 10% compared with the previous year. The results of Diageo’s environmental strategy are outlined in its 2012 sustainability and responsibility report, published last month.
