Eucalyptus fuel takes off in Oz

Sustainable fuel from eucalyptus trees is being developed for commercial airline flights. Virgin Australia and its aircraft supplier Airbus will seek to produce a certified energy source that will also make salt-affected land productive again by planting the trees. Airbus said: “Alternative fuels are a crucial part of the roadmap for sustainable aviation and to help meet our ambitious CO2 reduction targets. We are privileged to be working with our Australian partners in this exciting project.”
