Furniture retailer Ikea has announced plans to switch to renewable energy by 2020, and to grow more trees than it uses. The Swedish-based group said it will also encourage sales of energy-efficient products, including induction cookers and LED light bulbs. And, as part of its People & Planet Positive strategy, Ikea plans to have invested €1.5bn (£1.2bn, $1.9bn) in solar and wind power by 2015 to produce at least 70% of the group’s energy, with this rising to 100% by 2020.
