A new coalition of investors will consult on an ambitious plan to improve the quality of stewardship in the UK. Some of the world’s most proactive institutional investors, including Aviva Investors and BlackRock, have joined forces with the Tomorrow’s Company consultancy to investigate which engagement styles and practices are the most effective for engaging with companies. The initiative will consult with board members at large UK companies and with other institutional investors. The group has said it also intends to use its collective muscle in this year’s revision of the Financial Reporting Council’s Stewardship Code, due to take effect in the Autumn.
