James Murdoch steps down at NI

By 3p Contributor

James Murdoch has stepped down as chairman of News International, the European arm of the News Corp media empire. In the culmination of growing calls to quit over his handling of the phone hacking affair, and amid allegations of misleading parliament, Rupert’s son has left after five years in the post. Resigning just a week after the launch of the News of the World successor, the Sun on Sunday, and after months of shareholder pressure to step down along with other executives, James will continue to work for News Corp in New York.
