Miami hotel checks in Greenlight

By 3p Contributor

A hotel in Miami has become one of the largest so far to use 100% renewable energy. The luxury InterContinental hotel has partnered with Greenlight Energy to purchase over 15 million kWh of wind power this year. The move sees the establishment listed on the government Environment Protection Agency’s ‘Leadership Club’, part of the EPA’s Green Power Partnership, a public-private partnership scheme promoting the use of green power among US organisations. InterContinental says the conversion of the Miami hotel to green energy is part of a longer-term, corporate-wide sustainability strategy.
