Non-renewables running out fast, says new research

The world’s non-renewable resources are running out, causing problems in a number of production processes in the near future, according to research by Miriam Quick on behalf of HRH the Prince of Wales’s Accounting for Sustainability. There is an eight-year supply of antimony, used in various products from drugs to flame retardants, and indium, used in touch screens and solar panels, will be in short supply in 12 years. In 76 years phosphorous, a fertilizer and plant nutrient, will become rare – affecting food supplies.
