Discussions on 15 priority areas, which could lead to commitments or international agreements, are on the agenda hinted at by the UN for its June Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio+20. The topics, determined after consultation with business and other stakeholders, are: chemicals and waste, cities, climate change, education, energy, food security, biodiversity, gender equality, green jobs and social inclusion, land degradation, mountains, natural disasters, oceans and seas, sustainable development, and water. The so-called ‘zero draft’ for the conference also proposes a broader framework for action.
