Vodafone in discrimination wrangle

By 3p Contributor

Vodafone has come under fire in the UK for allegedly sacking a Muslim employee because he had a beard. Shahid Saleem is seeking legal advice after he claims he was dismissed from a temporary work placement in one of the telecoms giant’s retail stores in Croydon for having facial hair. He alleges that the store manager said “that he did not want me working with him if I had a beard”. Though Vodafone has investigated the complaint and apologised, local political leaders have condemned its actions as discrimination.
