Walmart extends security investigation

By 3p Contributor

Walmart’s internal investigation into violations of the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act has been extended from its operation in Mexico (EP, July 2012, p16) to also cover Brazil, India, China and other unspecified markets. In a filing to the US Securities & Exchance Commission, Walmart said it became aware of possible breaches during a worldwide review of its internal controls. Walmart Mexico is currently the subject of corruption probes by US and Mexican authorities, as well as by the company itself.
