Fergie settles phone-hacking claims

The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, is one of 144 people who have won ‘substantial damages’ after settling their phone-hacking claims against the now-defunct News of the World, the high court in London heard last month. Ferguson had demanded an apology from news Corporation’s UK newspaper publisher News International. Others who had also received damages include the actor Hugh Grant and Geoffrey Robinson, the Labour MP.
