?Sodexo, Inc., the quality of life service company, has been awarded the Henry Spira Humane Corporate Progress Award for its work to end the extreme confinement of farm animals in small crates and cages.

In 2012, Sodexo announced that it would eliminate gestation crates—used to confine breeding pigs—from its pork supply chain for North America. It also announced that it would switch all of the shelled eggs it uses to those from cage-free hens by July 2014 in the US.
