SCA is not a household brand name in the United States, but is a leading global manufacturer of hygiene and forest products. Tork napkins & dispensers and Tena incontinence products are among the on you might find in It is in fact, the largest private forest owner in Europe, owning 2.6 million hectares of forest area.
The company has a long track record of responsible forest management and working to instil sustainability principals in the company, but not every sustainability initiative is obvious. In fact, some are counter intuitive - like selling less product while making more money.
I had a chat with Kersti Standqvist, the Senior Vice President of Sustainability for SCA to learn about some of the company's initiatives as well as how to make the case for sustainability at the senor level.
