Oxfam campaign targets chocolate industry

By 3p Contributor

Oxfam Hong Kong is focusing on the chocolate industry as part of the charity’s global Behind the Brands campaign. It has targeted Nestlé, Mondelez and Mars for their failure to address inequality faced by women who grow cocoa for their chocolate products.

The Behind the Brands campaign highlights the social policies of the ten biggest food and beverage companies and maintains that they are failing the people they employ in developing countries by having few policies and measures in addressing the social and environmental impact their operations have on producers and communities.
