Video Interview: Anne Fajon, Cone Communications on CSR and Social Media

By Nick Aster

TriplePundit attended the Sustainable Brands 2013 conference earlier this month. Follow along on this page for ongoing video interviews with sustainability thought leaders, corporate change agents and entrepreneurs who are leading the way to a more sustainable future.

One of the principals on which TriplePundit was founded is the idea that social media is an indispensable tool for advancing sustainability - a democratic medium on which stakeholders can collaborate and a tool to encourage greater transparency from companies. Our work with companies has shown repeatedly that those who understand how to communicate effectively and naturally via social media are generally the ones who understand sustainability most deeply.

Now, Cone Communications has taken this idea and built a tool that proposes to objectively measure the degree to which companies have embraced social media in their CSR efforts. It's called CSR Social Score. The idea will be to rate companies on how effectively they're using social media to both inform stakeholders and engage them on CSR related topics.
