From Andrew Dunnett, project director, CSR Academy

By 3p Contributor

I was disappointed to read the headline in your September 2004 edition that the CSR Academy draws the picture of the ‘perfect CSR Manager’. This has never been the intended ambition of the CSR Academy, as the piece later concludes.

The CSR Academy was established in July 2004 with the specific aim of promoting CSR skills and competencies into the education, training and ongoing professional development of all managers, not just CSR specialists. This was the recommendation of the 2003 Report, Changing Manager Mindsets, commissioned by the DTI, which defined a set of CSR skills and competencies. This research has been incorporated into the Academy's unique CSR Competency Framework, which, through the Academy's Programme Partners, is being promoted to managers and through business schools to the next generation of business leaders.
