Business in the Community (BITC), the charity which promotes responsible business, is asking employees across the UK to tweet why they are #Proudtoworkfor their organizations.
The campaign is part of the build up to Responsible Business Week which takes place from 31 March – 4 April 2014. According to BITC, the week is an annual opportunity for businesses of all sizes to demonstrate their positive impact on society, share new ideas and do more to tackle environmental and societal challenges.
Companies across the country, including Veolia Environnement, who are sponsoring the special week, EDF Energy, Jaguar Land Rover, Unipart, Anglian Water GI Group, Logistik, and Wakefield Council, will be running events for customers, suppliers and schools during the week.
BITC is also running a two day conference at The Barbican in London and a ‘Business Unusual’ Conference in Sheffield. Activities are designed to enable businesses to explore new collaborations and to develop the practical action and behaviours necessary to meet the world’s most pressing challenges - such as youth unemployment, sustainability, diversity, flood disaster relief, and mental health in the workplace.
Stephen Howard, chief executive of Business in the Community commented: “This week is about action - inspiring, equipping and where necessary challenging business to build a fairer and more prosperous future. Business is a powerful movement for change and we are excited to give it the platform it so needs through this campaign.”
